fun weekend!

us with a beautiful overlook of Vienna in the background! that sun is illuminating my hair!
i just luv that european style!

schloss wihelminenberg---beautiful!...

Christian and I had a much needed great weekend!...like I said before to people I love living in Vienna because it is a city for young people...there is so much to do! and everything is so easily accessible with public transportation here...

We did a couple outting with some friends and we went to the wine festival in Stammersdorf!...so cute! its still a part of Vienna-but its in the northern part of the city where the wine fields are...the little gardens with tables to sit at with vineyards in the distance and grapes hanging down above your head are so cute! there was music and dancing and you could just see the Austrian culture 100%...it was so fun...you can sit at a table as long as you want, there is no pressure no stressful waitresses-nothing...its just fun!...

and today we went up to a palace hotel for a brunch. This was a gift from my schooldirector for christmas last year...the weather was perfect...we sat on a terrace overlooking Vienna and vineyards and had wonderful food!...yum! including chocolate fondue!...tonight we went to a summer festival down the street from us in an old castle...you can hear the music blaring from our balcony!...we ran into some friends and had a great evening........then we stopped for italian gelato ice cream on the way home...that place is dangerously too close to our apartment!...

now I have to enjoy my last week of freedom...since school starts on Monday!...tomorrow i will go set up my classroom and organize things......i have to get everything ready before Shereen comes to visit for the weekend!...Shereen and I go back to 10th grade at montrose!...her family is around europe vacationing and she is staying longer for a few days to be with me!!! and I am going to give her the grand city tour!...luv ya reenabelle! can't wait to see you!

Luvin our new crib!

We absolutely love our new apartment!...its slowing being turned into an MTV CRIB!!! haha...I am still unpacking and decorating...so pictures will come soon!...

we are still waiting for our new bed to come too...since I was away in the states-and of course leave it to a MAN to have the wrong bed delivered and set up!...arrghhh!...its okay I made him feel bad enough...

Oh and Christians mom said she is definitely coming for Christmas with us....I am so glad that she decided to come...and so is our friend Thomas who was Christians best man in the wedding. So it will definitely be a different Christmas, but a good one...her dream is to go to NYC...so thats what were going to do! Anybody know of some good hotels...cheaper but nice?...I know for new years they will all be overpriced...

I go back to school in 2 weeks from today!...ahhhh!!! I don't even want to think about it...

good news and bad news...

Wow its been a really long time!
I have good news and bad news.....the good news-We had a WONDERFUL vacation in Tunesia...I will have to post many pictures of that another time...we stayed in a resort-but we took many excursions to the cities around and we climbed sand dunes, went on a jeep ride through the Sahara and even went on a camel ride in the Sahara Desert!...it was definitely exotic....and some parts were definitely 3rd world and reminded me of Peru a little bit...but we always felt safe...

the bad news-well after we got back from our vacation, we received bad news that Christians dad was in the hospital and not doing well...(I never posted this but he has been fighting Lung Cancer since March 2006)...well we went straight from the airport with his mom to the hospital...crazy considering it was already night time!...the next day we were moving out of our apartment at 8am!...we didnt sleep much considering I was still packing boxes......well we got through the moving day with help of a lot of friends and everything was in our new apartment but a disaster everywhere!...we had lunch all together-went swimming in our pool and then christian got a phone call that his dad died. Talk about shock or what...we were planning on visiting him later in the hospital, but it was too late. The night before was the last time we would ever see him again. He had received so much medicine and chemo and everything that it made his heart weaker-so his dad had a heart attack and died. It was supposed to be the happiest day for us to have a nice new apartment-and instead it was a day of horror...so I am home now with my family-but its not easy knowing that I am not able to be there for my husband while he is going through this. He is very close with his mom though and so I know they need this time together alone even without me there. Just pray for them as I know his mother does not know the Lord and so I am not sure how she is dealing with this. Everything always comes at bittersweet times for me it seems.

well on that note...its hard to talk about anything happy anymore in this post after sharing that news...
I am home though and would love to see some of you...the time is flying by as usual...
